May 7- Kevin Convery

"The Re-enchantment

of Everyday Life - Part 2" 

Mr. Convery has taught Fine Art in the U.S. and worked as a book illustrator in Russia. The event will review the written book by Thomas Moore titled: "Restoring Heart & Soul in Exploring Ancient Beauty, Nature, and Craft". On this night we will be exploring the realm of archetypes in art as sacred undercurrents that still shape modern culture and relationships.

May 14- Jean Galliano

"The Emerald Tablets and Sir Isaac Newton"

In 1936 Newton's unpublished manuscripts were finally revealed to the world, which shocked the scientific community. Before he became known as the father of Modern Science he was just another scientist. His forbidden passion led him to discover the principles of our world. His deeper insight, unknown by most, came from the ancient emerald tables according to the research of this presentation. Group discussion to follow  Refreshments are included. All are welcome!

May 21 - Paul Pirozzi

"Emperor Jones by Eugene O'Neal"

This classic work from the 1920's will be performed highlighting issues of racism, slavery, politics, and the big con by social elites. Eugene O'Neal was one of the foundational playwrights that set the stage for all modern theater. The play has been retold each generation, but neglected in recent times. Paul has been wanting to perform this for 20 years and now this play has become more relevant than ever today. It celebrates comradeship, faces hate, and embraces fun. Paul aims to keep it's legacy alive today. Q& A and group discussion will follow. Refreshments are included.  All are welcome!

May 28 - Poetry Nite & Art Exhibit

Princess Ameenah will host this evening’s program which will explore the theme of this year's 30th anniversary of National Poetry Month. This month we have a featured guest Artist Dominique Echevarria. Followed by her presentation will be an Open Mic night, offering seasoned poets and newbies alike, the opportunity to express themselves through the spoken word format of poetry, monologue, and short, short story.  Refreshments will be served.  All are Welcome!
